SHAH ALAM, 14 Mar: A police report was lodged by the Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) at the Kajang Police Station at 3pm just now following the dissemination of flyers discrediting the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) candidate, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The police report was lodged by the state PKR Information Chief, Suhaimi Shafei, together with the former Member of Parliament for Hulu Selangor, Khalid Jaafar.
The police report was lodged also because the dissemination of the flyers is against the Election Offences Act 1954.
Suhaimi, in a press conference this morning, said that the dissemination of the flyers that tarnish the Kajang DUN candidate began circulating around the state.
“10 Reasons to Reject Wan Azizah” and “EC Slander Pakatan Tarnishes Electoral Roll” allegedly was created by Barisan Nasional to defame.
“It is clearly defamatory material, giving wrong facts and is in violation of the Election Offences Act 1954 (11)(1c).
Anyone found guilty can be fined not exceeding RM2,000 and imprisonment not exceeding a year,” he said.
