Suhaimi: Kajang Move Continues, Nothing to do with Change of CM

KAJANG, 14 Mar: The Kajang Move previously announced by the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has not been set aside even though he has been disqualified from being the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election candidate.

The Selangor PKR Information Chief, Suhaimi Shafei, said that the strategy to capture Putrajaya through the ‘Kajang Move’ still exists.

He said that it will continue although it will not be part of the party manifesto for the kajang DUN by-election on 23 March.

“I reject allegations that the Kajang Move has been set aside in the party campaign after Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah was announced as the candidate to replace her husband (Anwar).

“From the beginning, we launched the Kajang Move when the seat was vacated. We announced Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the candidate at first and a lot has been peeled in this matter.

“When Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah was nominated, we said that he were in the ending process and will continue it,” he said in a press conference here at the Main Operations Room today.

Commenting further on the ‘Kajang Move’ report involving the change in the Selangor Chief Minister, Suhaimi however rejected the allegations.

“If we examined Anwar’s answer during the Pakatan Rakyat Convention recently, we can say that focus is to finish the by-election first and other issues can be discussed after that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Suhaimi informed that the distribution of brochures tarnishing the image of the Kajang DUN candidate has been circulating around the state.

The brochure titled “10 Reasons to Reject Wan Azizah” and “EC Slander Pakatan Tarnishes Electoral Roll”was allegedly created by Barisan Nasional to defame.

“It is clearly a defamatory material, giving wrong facts and violating the Election Offences Act 194 (11)(1c). Anyone found guilty can be fined not exceeding RM2,000 and imprisonment not exceeding a year,” he said.
