Love to Play Chess, Join the Klang Parade Tournament

SHAH ALAM, 4 Apr: The Selangor Chess Association invites the public to come and witness the Annual Klang Parade Chess Tournament on 5 and 6 April.

It is organised by Klang Parade and DAT Chess Centre, in cooperation with the Selangor Chess Association.

“Come and witness (or participate) in the Klang Parade Annual Chess Tournament where the young, old and those willing and brave enough to compete in this tournament,” the organisers said in a statement.

This year’s Chess Tournament will be a national event with high class, or in other words, this competition will be more difficult and spectators can expect impressive performances and the sound of chessboards resonating throughout this shopping complex.

The tournament is divided into two categories; Under 12 & Below 18 Years, which will only be held on 5 April at 9am, while the Open Championship will be held the following day at the same time.

Those interested in participating must fill out the entry form and only the first 100 entries will be accepted.

Participants who wish to participate in the Open Championship should also do so to secure a place because the equipment available is limited.

Participants in the Group category are required to pay a fee of RM20.00, while participants for the Open Championship have to pay an entry fee of RM25.00.

Participants aged 12 only have to pay RM15.00 for both tournaments.

A certificate of participation will be given to all participants, and the winners will receive a cash prize of RM1,500, a hamper and a trophy.

Analysts, chess players and fans expect something amazing. So, sharpen your mind and your strategy and come on down to Klang Parade to put your mind to the test.
