KUALA LUMPUR, 2 Aug: The PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, conveyed Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s message asking for the country’s reform for the benefit of the people.
She said that leaders must respond to the people’s call for national freedom and justice.
“It is to combat corruption and abuse of power as well as economy so that it is not monopolised by a handful of the rich.
“While the people are faced with the pressure of the high cost of living, the GST, rising prices and the depreciation of the ringgit, the country is rocked by allegations of fund channeling,” she said during the President’s Mandate Tour.
Dr Wan Azizah said that Anwar wants agendas that defend the people of various races, religions and cultures to be given priority.
She said that although Anwar is now in prison, his soul is with the people calling for reform for the country.
“I am confident and I believe that the new alliance will be stronger and solid for the people to generate fair change and to meet the people’s expectations,” she said.
