Exco: Help according to schools’ infrastructural requirements

SHAH ALAM, 19 June: The state government is channeling an allocation of RM10.1 million to 466 schools based on the schools’ infrastructural needs and the number of students.

The Exco for Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that the selection will be done according to the latest condition of the school, in addition to the application form that is submitted with photographic proof.

Among the schools chosen are People’s Religious Schools (SAR), Chinese and Tamil National Vernacular Schools.

“These schools are filtered based on infrastructural needs. This assistance is an extension of the assistance given by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, in Gombak last month,” he said in a statement.

Nik Nazmi said that the state government is taking the education development sector in the state seriously.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Nurul Saadah Modern Hut School, said that the method of distribution according to district is a good new approach.

“We are satisfied because it facilitates schools and it would be more comfortable if they do so,” he said.

The representative of Simpang Morib SJKC said that the school will use the funds from the assistance to level the field and build drains around the school to mitigate flooding.
