GLCs contribute RM1.2 million in conjunction with the Selangor Sultan’s Cup

SHAH ALAM, 3 Sept: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, received a donation cheque of RM1.8 million in conjunction with the Selangor Sultan’s Cup, 14th edition, at the Grand Ballroom, Concorde Hotel, today.

What is to be proud of is that RM1.2 million from this was contributed by four state government subsidiary companies (GLCs).

Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) become the largest contributor with RM600,000 while the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Worldwide Landfills Sdn Bhd and Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) each contributed RM200,000.

Sultan Sharafuddin received the cheque while being accompanied by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Tan Sri Abdul Karim Munisar.

The Selangor Sultan’s Cup 2015 will take place at the Shah Alam Stadium with the clash between two Selangor veterans against Singaporean veterans and the Selangor select against the Singapore select on October 24.

The veteran team match will start at 8.00 pm, followed by the select team at 9.00 pm.

The 14th edition will be graced by a dance by 200 students from 17 schools in Selangor, as well a singing performances from the Caliph Buskers.

According to records, the Selangor Selection has won the Selangor Sultan’s Cup seven times since it was contested in 2001.
