Six areas record unhealthy API readings

SHAH ALAM, 3 Sept: Six areas in the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings exceeding 100 as of 4 pm today.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website, the situation is in Port Klang (102), Alor Setar (117), Taiping (105), Ipoh (106), Seri Manjung (104) and Kangsar (110).

In addition, 34 other areas recorded moderate air quality.

This morning, 12 areas recorded unhealthy API readings involving Selangor, in Banting (102), Port Klang (109), Shah Alam (108) and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur 113).

API readings between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
