Husam: 1MDB will be the undoing of the PM

SHAH ALAM, 13 Dec: The Vice President of PAS, Husam Musa, predicts that the 1MDB scandal will be the undoing of Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Razak Abdul Razak.

Husam said that the police report made by the Batu Kawan Umno Deputy Chief, Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan, and the discussion of the scandal by the Cabinet chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is a development “which will bring about a huge impact”.

“How could the confidential Cabinet discussion reach the media? Surely with specific intention.

“The same with the sudden courage of an Umno division leader. At the recent UGA (Umno General Assembly), did the party President not hold a meeting with all delegates and briefed them on the 1MDB issue?” asked Husam in a statement received by Selangor Kini.

Husam expressed doubt over these two events that occurred simultaneously. He said that the next chapter depends on the courage of the Minister of Home Affairs, Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“Would he dare to allow the police to act professionally on this issue?” asked Husam.

According to that statement, Khairuddin reported to the police asking for an investigation to be carried out on the purchase of a 234 acre land in Air Itam, Penang, from two owners at the price of RM1.38 billion, which is said to be above the current market price.

“Who owns the land in Penang which was bought at a high price (95% more expensive?) by 1MDB,” Husam asked.

The Umno grassroots have also urged the police to investigate the payment fees to Goldman Sach International which allegedly calculated excessively and the mysterious investment in the Cayman Islands.

In addition, the Umno members also urged for the mysterious investment of USD1.2 billion in Petro Saudi International Ltd., the asset purchase of the Powertek Energy and the Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd Independent Power Producers (IPP) at a price higher than the market price, the interest payments that are higher than the current market and the purchase of a land in Pulau Indah, Selangor, at the price of RM317 million from Tadman Resources Sdn Bhd.

“For example, for the financial year until March this year, 1MDB has recorded huge losses of RM665.3 million, with loans totalling RM49.1 billion.

“What is more, as written by TS (The Scribe) and A (Abdul) Kadir Jasin on his blog, 1MDB has applied for an received approval from Bank Negara to extend the period of the non-performing loan from three months to six months.

“If this is true, then 1MDB is indeed moaning in pain despite its very young age,” said Husam.
