Young generation need to shape the nation’s future

SHAH ALAM, 31 Aug: The people, especially the younger generation, should be given the opportunity and space to shape the future of the country for the better and to be respected internationally.

Shah Alam resident, Halim Kamudin, 56, said that the exposure is necessary in order to build confidence in the people who inherited independence from the previous generation.

“The spirit of patriotism should be nurtured continuously in people so that there is awareness to defend the independence achieved.

“Opportunity and space that should be given to the younger generation to express ideas and expertise in shaping the future of the country seems to be denied,” he told Selangor Kini yesterday.

Tanjung Karang resident, Abdul Ghafar Tajuddin, 34, said that the fight by the previous generation should be a guide to the people today who are facing life filled with independence.

“Let’s not waste their sacrifices to liberate the country and the freedom achieved.

“We should be proud because this independence gives freedom in all respects towards building the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khairi Kasbi, 43, says that the country’s independence must be defended by the people so that continuous development can be fully enjoyed.

“Without being the thumb of colonists our lives are certainly more free and meaningful.

“The spirit of patriotism should be instilled in the present generation so that we can continue to be resilient in defending the country from outside threats,” he said.
