Exco: Water tariff rate in Selangor maintained

SHAH ALAM, 2 Aug: The Selangor government assured that the water tariff in the state will have no changes even though some other states like Johor and Labuan will have an increase in price.

The Exco for Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries, Zaidy Abdul Talib, said that the maintenance of the tariff rate is to ensure that the welfare of the people remains a priority.

“For this time, the state government is not thinking of increasing the water tariff rates like what is happening in Johor and Labuan.

“We will not burden the people, especially when dealing with the increasing cost of living,” he told Selangor Kini.

Zaidy said that the water restructuring that will be completed will benefit the people in all aspects, including water tariff rates.

“At this time, the government is concerned so that the water restructuring will only benefit the people and not burden them.

“Later on, the government will also continue to do the best for the people in all aspects, including water tariff rates,” he said.
