The sky is clear again, country free from unhealthy API

SHAH ALAM, 21 Sept: The people can breathe a sigh of relief when the Air Pollution Index (API) today is below 100 compared to two weeks ago.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE), eight areas that recorded healthy air quality are Muar, Johor (39), Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (44), Jerantut, Pahang (45), Tanjung Malim, Perak (24), Kangar, Perlis (49), Perai, Pulau Pinang (47), Kuala Selangor (45) and Petaling Jaya (49) as of 11 this morning.

While nine areas in Sabah and Sarawak recorded healthy air quality with the Miri Industrial Training Institute recording a reading of 26, Kapit (32), Limbang (28), Miri (41), Sarikei (48) and Sibu (47).

While 30 other areas recorded moderate API readings.

API readings between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
