137 schools from the Petaling District receive RM2.65 million

SHAH ALAM, 17 June: A total of 137 schools in the Petaling district received provisions of over RM2.65 million under the Selangor Government Education Assistance Distribution.

The Exco for Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that it aims to provide facilities and a conducive environment for learning.

He said that the assistance is given to People’s Religious Schools (SAR), Chinese National-Type Schools (SJKC) and Tamil National-Type Schools (SJKT).

“The assistance distributed takes into account the number of students and the latest condition of the school based on the completed application form,” he said.

He said this during the Education Assistance Distribution Ceremony for the Petaling district, which was also attended by the Seri Andalas Assemblyman, Dr Xavier Jayakumar, at the Deri Delima Hall in the PKNS Sports Complex recently.

At the same time, the assistance was also given to SJKT Simpang Lima, Klang, the largest SJKT in Malaysia with almost 2,450 students.
