SHAH ALAM, 23 Apr: The state government has allocated RM80,000 for the reparation of the Maahad Tarbiyah Islamiah Al-Ansar male hostel in Kuala Selangor which was destroyed by a storm on April 17.
The Exco for Religious Affairs, Malay Customs, Rural Development and Traditional Villages, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that the matter was decided in the Exco meeting held today.
“I looked into it yesterday. I have submitted the cost estimates to the Education Exco Office and finally they decided to give provisions to the institution,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.
He said that the Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, will visit the hostel to personally see the damages to the roof of the building that houses 150 male students on April 27.
“The Chief Minister will also pray at the nearby mosque,” he said.
The roof of the male dormitory at the institution was destroyed by a strong storm around 5.45 pm on April 17.
However, they were lucky when the damages did not cause any injury.
