CM: Selangor, Federal Government continues cooperation on transport issues

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: Talks between the State Government and the Federal Government regarding transport development in the state will continue.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the meeting between him and the Minister of Public Works, Datuk Fadillah Yusof, is a good start.

“On behalf of the Selangor Government, we welcome the Minister of Public Works, together with the ministry secretary and all department heads, to discuss comprehensively transport development plans.

“I am honoured that the Minister of Public Works guaranteed to continue talks with the State Government, in accordance with Section 20 (A) of the Town and Country Planning Act.

“The State Government will discuss with the Federal (Government) on development projects and we will continue it as a practice before any policy decisions,” he said.

He said this during a press conference after a meeting with the Minister of Public Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, at the Selangor Chief Minister’s office today.

Meanwhile, Fadillah, during the same press conference, said that bilateral talks could provide the best results for the welfare of the people.

“I will take it to the Cabinet meeting some of the matters they have asked for. There are a number of things, but when we have decided, only then will we announce them,” he said.

He said that the development of an efficient transport system is very important because it can provide a positive impact socially and economically.
