State government subsidiary companies donate RM4.105 million for post-flood aid

SHAH ALAM, 2 Jan: A total of RM4.105 million has been successfully collected as contribution from Selangor state government subsidiary companies for post-flood assistance for areas hit by the floods in the East Coast and the Northern Peninsula.

This contribution was presented by the company representatives and corporate bodies to the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, at the Selangor State Government Secretary Office Building Foyer.

The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) topped the list in the Corporation category as they each donated RM500,000.

For the category of Selangor State Subsidiaries, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) topped the list of contributors with RM300,000, followed by Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) with RM200,000 and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad with RM100,000.

For the category of Corporate Bodies, Tanjong Wahyu Sdn Bhd became the largest contributor with RM1 million.

This was followed by Worldwide Holdings, which provided a cash contribution of Rm4000,000 in addition to donations in the form of dried food and diapers totalling RM100,000.

Mohamed Azmin in his speech thanked all Selangor state government subsidiary companies and corporate bodies that have come forward to provide contributions to ease the burden of flood victims across Malaysia.

He also expressed his gratitude to local authorities who have also helped in the post-flood clean-up.

Apart from that, he said that the state government will also present contributions in the form of schooling needs to the flood victims.

He also called for housing development companies to come forward and cooperate with the Selangor government to redevelop flood victims’ residential areas that have been destroyed.
