There have been allegations by some stating that Rafizi’s appointment as the PKR Secretary General, replacing Datuk Saifuiddin Nasution Ismail, was top control Azmin’s power as the new Chief Minister of Selangor for the sake of safeguarding the interests of the party.

Prior to this, Saifuddin was appointed as the PKR Election Director with another Vice President, Nurul Izzah Anwar, to replace Mohamed Azmin Ali.

The decision was made to lighten Mohamed Azmin’s duties as he is now the Chief Minister of Selangor.

However, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also asked Mohamed Azmin to help Nurul Izzah and Saifuddin as he has vast experience prior to this.
