SELANGOR

26 SJK (T) receive contribution of RM850,000

SHAH ALAM, 11 Sept: A total of 26 Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Tamil will receive a contribution of RM850,000 from the Selangor Government on September 12 at the Second Phase of Cheque Presentation Ceremony at SJK (T) Watson, Port Klang.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Education, Higher Learning and Human Capital Development, Dr Halimah Ali, said that the aid is part of policy that is being continued by the Selangor Government for various types of schools which was established over the past six years.

“It is a policy to educate the people and it will be attended by Exco members and the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim,” she said during a press conference after the Executive Council meeting yesterday.

Among the schools that will receive the aid are SJK (T) Ladang Ampar Tenang, SJK (T) Ladang Escot, SJK (T) Ladang Riverside, SJK (T) Ladang Sungai Tinggi, SJK (T) Ladang Minyak, SJK (T) Pulau Carey Barat, SJK (T) Batu Caves, SJK (T) Klang and others.

Meanwhile, the Executive Councillor in charge of Islamic Affairs, Agricultural Modernisation and Rural Development, Sallehen Mukhyi, informed that the State Executive Council (MMKN) today approved the Neighbourhood Team Programme at Traditional Villages in Selangor.

He said that the MMKN agreed to provide provisions of RM5,000 per year to every village involved to implement the programme.

“Prior to this, the State Government only gave a one-off provision, but the MMKN today agreed to provide allocation each year and traditional villagers have to submit a report every six months on the progress of the programmes carried out,” he said.
