SHAH ALAM, 12 Aug: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, arrived for work as usual today at his office at the State Secretariat Building in Shah Alam.

A day earlier, after he received the consent of the Sultan of Selangor to continue holding the post of Chief Minister until further developments despite being sacked by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Khalid, who was attired in a dark lounge suit, was seen to be calm and smiling as he arrived at the building at about 9.30 am., reported Bernama.

He is expected to meet state executive councillors today to find out whether they wish to remain in the state government administration or resign.

Four of the councillors are from PAS and three each from DAP and PKR. The three parties make up Pakatan Rakyat.

The PKR disciplinary board expelled Khalid from the party with immediate effect on Saturday, after he defied a party decision requiring him to step down as CM to pave the way for PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Khalid had said that he would remain the MB until his term expires. He has been the MB since March 13, 2008.
