Selangor Sultan presents LZS & MAIS contributions to 645 recipients

SABAK BERNAM, 17 July: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, consented to break fast with the people at the Al-Abrar Mosque here at Batu 2 Sepintas yesterday.

At the same time, he also presented Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions to 600 individuals from all walks of life, including the poor, needy, orphans and converts.

A total of RM169,500 was contributed by the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) to 339 poor and needy people, while RM153,000 was allocated to 306 orphans and converts by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS).

The Sultan and the attendees then carried out the Maghrib prayers and broke fast with the people, and then carried out the Isha and Tarawih prayers in a congregation.

Accompanying him was the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah; the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, and state leaders.
