300 helmets distributed to encourage motorcyclist to prioritise road safety

SHAH ALAM, 23 July: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) held the ‘Safely Balik Kampung’ campaign by giving out free helmets as a symbol for motorists to prioritise road safety.

A total of 300 units of adult helmets and 20 units of children helmets were given free to motorcyclists.

This is courtesy of the Road Safety Department (JKR) and SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, especially for the residents of Shah Alam, which was held at Jalan Kuala Selangor, Paya Jaras, Section U20, Shah Alam.

The helmets given met safety features approved by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd.

JKR Director, Norlaily Zakariah, together with the Mayor of MBSA, Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan, also took part in distributing helmets to motorcyclists for the success of this programme.

In addition to the helmets, MBSA also distributed dates to the public in conjunction with the Ramadan month.
