“Soon There Will be a Story Saying Anwar Was Involved in WWII”

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim slammed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who accused the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader of allegedly playing a role during the Ops Lalang in 1987.

He said that every problem in this country is ‘all Anwar’s fault,’ including the detention of 108 opposition leaders and activists under the Internal Security Act (ISA)

“Ops Lalang; this is the first time I am hearing that it was all my fault. Yesterday I was given an article saying that I was allegedly involved in the 13 May (incident).

“After this, there would be stories saying that I was involved in the Second World War,” he said cynically when talking at the Holy Family Church Hall at Jalan Gereja today.

Mahathir, in a local news portal, accused Anwar, without evidence, of playing an instrumental role in the Ops Lalang in 1987.

Today, Malaysia Kini quoted from Anwar’s statement, where he did not giving a response on the question of whether he wants to be the Chief Minister if he wins in the Kajang by-election.

During Anwar’s visit, a voter states that he will only vote for the PKR de facto leader if he was to be the new Chief Minister.

“If you say yes, I will vote for you. Otherwise, I will not vote for you; if your answer is that you are not sure, then I am also not sure if I would vote for you,” said Robert Tan, a teacher.

Anwar then replied: “If you gave me three options, I will answer this way:

“Mr Robert Tan, Sir, support me in Kajang and we will prove to you that you made the right choice.”
