MBPJ Opens Operation Room to Face Water Crisis

SHAH ALAM, 6 Mar: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has prepared a water crisis action plan by opening a 24-hour Operations Room in preparation to face the water disruption in the district.

The Mayor, Datin Paduka Alinah Ahmad, said that the decision was taken after the State Government announced the water rationing starting from 25 February.

“MBPJ has three water tankers and 18 static tanks that “MBPJ has three water tankers and static tanks 18 units that will be used during the crisis.

“This action plan will begin with the modus operandi of supplying water using water tankers on a scheduled basis, placing static tanks in critical areas and conducting water patrolling to monitor the location where the tanks are places,” she explained to Selangor Kini.

Alinah added that officials from departments involved have been placed on duty in turns for a period of 24 hours to ensure the smooth running of water distribution.

In addition to that, MBPJ has also issued notices to car wash business operators to reduce operating hours as a move to overcome the water shortage crisis.

“All domestic and commercial consumers are advised to be prudent in using water,” she said.
