CM: PR Government Committed to Exercise Administrative Reforms

PETALING JAYA, 12 Jan: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, is confident that his vision to reform the administrative culture is in line with the people’s desire.

Abdul Khalid said that since the political tsunami in the 12th General Election (GE12) in 2008, the leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) have worked hard to prove that the new government elected by the people is far better than Barisan Nasional (BN).

From this policy, he said, various welfare programmes have been implemented to meet the needs of the people, who were previously ignored, including recovering abandoned housing projects such as the project in Bukit Botak, Selayang.

“PR was elected by the people on the basis of the reforms championed by it (PR) to practice an administration that is more transparent, has high integrity, is fair and free from corruption.

“However, the people do not want to just hear about it, they want to see the reforms mentioned and that is what we are doing,” said Abdul Khalid.

He said this when delivering a speech during the 53rd Anniversary of the Rotary Club, Petaling Jaya (RCPJ), which was held at the Empire Hotel last night.

Earlier, Abdul Khalid received two special RCPJ awards; the President’s Award for Humanitarian Service and the Paul Harris Fellow.

The President of RCPJ, Captain H.S. Dharan, said that selecting the Chief Minister was done based on his achievement in making iconic reforms in Selangor.

“The Chief Minister has proven that he is a leader capable of making reformation changes, evolution and innovation in improving the people’s quality of life.

“Not only is the state becoming more developed, by the people are not marginalised by the wave of development,” said Dharan in his speech.

Also present was the wife of the Chief Minister, Puan Sri Salbiah Tunut, as well as State Executive Councillors Elizabeth Wong and Dr.Daroyah Alwi. Daro
