SHAH ALAM, JUL 25: As of July 2016, Invest Selangor Berhad conducted seven working visits abroad, covering 26 major world cities.
Invest Selangor Berhad Chief Executive Officer Hasan Azhari Idris said all the visits managed to garner positive responses from foreign investors.
“Selangor is, in fact, strategic for investors and that clearly attracted them.
“Some of them did not realise they had been investing in Selangor as they thought we are in Kuala Lumpur.
“However, they are now more informed about Selangor’s location,” he said to SelangorKini.
He was met here at the Invest Selangor Open House Ceremony, which was also attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Until March 2016, Invest Selangor has successfully attracted almost RM1 billion foreign investment in the manufacturing sector.
Hasan said he is confident that the RM6 billion target for 2016 can be achieved by December.
“In 2015, we achieved RM7.9 billion from the target of RM8 billion.
“Therefore we are confident that the reduced target this year, due to the current global economic situation, can be achieved,” he said.
