Saiduddin: Mat Taib’s Participation in Selangor’s Leadership is Not Unusual

PETALING JAYA, 14 Feb: The participation of the former Chief Minister of Selangor, tan Sri Muhammad Taib, in the line-up of the Selangor Government leadership, is not something strange.

The PKR Secretary General, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution, said that he welcomed his presence because he believes that the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is wise in assessing the ability and potential of a person.

“In fact it is not just Mat Taib, but as many as possible.

“I welcome it because Muhammad was formerly the Selangor Chief Minister for 1 years, he certainly has his own strengths,” he said in a press conference at the PKR Headquarters.

Saifuddin believes that the proposed statement came as Anwar has 17 years of experience in Umno-BN.

“Anwar, with his long political experience, is a democratic person and believes in one’s abilities and is smart in assessing the potential of someone.

“If this is his statement, it normally comes from Anwar. He will look at the ability of someone beyond political boundaries,” said Saifuddin.

Anwar said in his talk at the Penghulu Complex in Kajang recently that he wanted to bring Muhammad Taib into the state’s administration if he wins in the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election in March.

This is because the leader’s ability in rural development matters is needed to strengthen the state administration.
