PUCHONG, OCT 5: Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi visited Sekolah Menengah Islam Puchong (SMIP) which was destroyed by fire recently.
Sri Serdang Assemblyman Noor Hanim Ismail was also present during the October 5 visit.
“Together we pray that Allah will help us rebuild this school,” Noor Hanim wrote on Facebook.
Five classrooms, a dining room and a surau in SMIP were burned in a fire on October 3.
In the 2 pm incident, the school lost almost RM400,000 when the entire mosque and classroom buildings were destroyed, although no casualties were reported.
Due to the incident, the school has to let 320 students go on leave due to insufficient classroom space.
