Kajang By-Election: PR Rejects Provocation, Urges Supporters to Fight Tyranny

KAJANG, 21 Mar: The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate for the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, hopes that the Friday blessings will bring her victory on 23 March.

With a calm tone, she urged supporters to pray for PR’s victory to continue to work to bring about changes and fight against injustice.

“Today is Friday, between the two sermons, pray for victory. Not for us, not for me, not for Anwar, but for our country.

“The victory is for change for us all,” she said at the ‘Nasi Lemak Kopi O’ breakfast at the MZ Restaurant at Sri Tanjung, Sungai Jelok, today.

The event, organised by the Pandan PAS, led by the Cempaka Assemblyman, Iskandar Abdul Samad, was also joined by the Assemblyman for Bangi, Shafie Ngah; the Member of Parliament for Hulu Langat, Dr Che Rosli Che Mat; the Member of Parliament for Rantau Panjang, Siti Zailah and the Assemblyman for Sri Andalas, Xavier Jayakumar.

At the same time, Wan Azizah explained that she has been informed about the sabotage on the contesting candidate’s campaign signboard and poster.

She said that PR rejects all forms of provocation, including the splashing of red paint.

“We do not play by throwing red paint. We discuss and debate on issues and that is important.

“I remember them splashing red paint on the bus, Anwar’s baju Melayu was covered in paint,” she said.

She took the opportunity to greet and take photos with diners at the restaurant and spend time with local residents during the programme.
