SHAH ALAM, FEB 19: The story of a family living on the streets of Sungai Buloh who were discovered by a social media user recently has gained the attention of the public.

According to the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) website, Marsridah Mansor and family are registered as asnaf at the LZS.

“Masridah has four children and supports them by selling fertiliser.

“They receive various assistance of zakat including monthly financial aid,” the board said in a statement.

LZS has also tried to persuade the family on several occasions to move to a more comfortable location, but has been rejected on the grounds of taking care of their livestock.

“As a result of their decision, they do not have any water and electricity supply at the house they live in as they do not won the land.

“As such, to ensure that the family will lead a better lifestyle, LZS will continue to urge the family to move to a better home,” it said.
