Exco issue: Anwar asks everyone to respect CM’s decision

SHAH ALAM, 29 Sept: The PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, called on all parties to respect the decision by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali on the new Executive Council.

He explained that the issue was determined by the party’s internal deliberations.

“This is the decision of the Chief Minister after discussions with the party. This is his decision. We need to give the Chief Minister the space to determine and make decisions effectively,” he said briefly answering the issue on the reduction of PAS Exco members from 4 to three.

He said this to reporters after a lecture on extremists here at the University of Selangor.

In the meantime, Anwar also declined to comment on what the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin, said when he blamed PKR for causing the Chief Minister crisis.

“I do not want to be dragged into a controversy with what the Sultan said.

“That is his opinion. I do not want to debate,” he said.

Last week, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, stated his disappointment over the impasse triggered by the ‘Kajang Move’ inspired by PKR to remove the former Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
