MPSJ: Dengue cases drop by 40 percent

SUBANG JAYA, AUG 23: Cumulative dengue cases in the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) administration area recorded a decline of up to 40 per cent as of Aug 12.

MPSJ Acting President, Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali said the obvious drop was involving 3,992 cases compared to the same period of 6,616 cases, in 2016.

“Despite the declining, we continue to take precautionary measures and proactively eliminate aedes reproduction and dengue totally.

“When they reproduce, they do not care the colour of the peoples skin and origin, but it is very damaging that could causes death,” he told at the press conference yesterday.

Earlier, he completed the Exploration Programme and the Launching of the Dengue Squad Programme, at Sunway Lagoon.

Mohd Zulkurnain said there are six localities of dengue fever hotspot as of the 32nd epidemic week.

“Subang Jaya Zone has three hotspot localities while Seri Serdang, Seri Kembangan and Kinrara each with one local hotspot,” he said.
