The people rise to fight for the country’s future, fight BN-Umno regime’s cruelty

SHAH ALAM, 12 Feb: The spirit of fighting against cruelty and injustice by the Umno-BN regime encouraged hundreds of people to flood the main gate of the Sungai Buloh Prison last night.

With cries of reform throughout the gathering, Wan Nor Hanim Baharudin, 33, said that he once again feels the reformation spirit of 1998.

“If the people do not rise up, whom else can we hope for to fight for our fate.

“It is not about Anwar only, but the future of our country and our children,” said the Klang resident.

For Grace Aw, 31, the Defamation II case was clearly fabricated and is politically motivated to crash Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s advance.

“Clearly, Anwar was sentenced without any evidence. Even a fool knows that it was just made up,” said Grace who was there with her husband.

Meanwhile, G.Anath from Klang promised to attend the solidarity gathering for Anwar every night.

“Anwar’s struggle will not cease in just a night. We will all rise up to fight Umno-BN,” he said, accompanied with cries of “Lawan, tetap lawan” (Keep on fighting) by other friends.

Last night, over 300 people participated in solidarity with Anwar, including his children, Ehsan and Nurul Nuha, and other leaders like Tian Chua and Dr Daroyah Alwi.
