MPSJ allocates RM89,000 to repair the collapsed cliff in Kinrara

PUCHONG, 13 Mar: A allocation of RM89,000 was used by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) to repair the collapsed cliff at the bridge at Jalan Kinrara 2, Bandar Kinrara.

Kinrara Assemblyman, Ng Sze Han, said due to the high cost, MPSJ had to conduct the quotation process to appoint a contractor capable of carrying out the repairs.

“It is the first incident and all costs are being borne by MPSJ. It will take a little time because there is the need to carry out technical studies and the calculation of costs to repair the collapsed cliff.

“The time period given to the contractor for the repairs is two months from March to April, however it would be better if it is completed sooner,” he said during a press conference here today.

The cliff at the bridge collapsed in November last year and MPSJ took the initial action to cover it with canvas so that the soil is not exposed to rain water that can cause a more serious landslide.

MPSJ also placed a safety rope to notify bridge users of the bridge and the road regarding the incident.

Sze Han said that repairs should be carried out carefully so as to not affect the underground cable belonging to several utility companies.

“This job will take some time because it involves a lot of technical work such as piling, building concrete walls and so on.

“We hope that the public and users will be patient during the reparation period and to cooperate for the comfort and safety in the future,” he said.
