Azmin: PAS & PKR reached consensus to intensify by-election campaign

BUKIT MERTAJAM, 25 Apr: PAS and PKR reached a consensus to ensure the smooth running of the Permatang Pauh Parliamentary by-election campaign.

PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the consensus was reached in a meeting with the leaders last night.

“I met with the leadership of PAS and PKR, we reached a very good consensus.

“Both parties provided explanations on issues previously raised,” he told reporters during the Permatang Pauh Parliamentary by-election nomination.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also the Chief Minister of Selangor, said that the meeting was composed of the Deputy President, Mohamad Sabu; the Penang Deputy Commissioner, Datuk Salleh Man and the Permatang Pauh PAS Yang Dipertua, Omar Hassan.

Meanwhile the PKR leadership consisted of Mohamed Azmin, the PKR candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the Seberang Jaya Assemblyman, Dr Afif Baharuddin.

“Thank God it went smoothly. The meeting took place smoothly. Both sides are happy.

“We will ensure a big win here. So, the media should not should not manipulate this matter,” he said.

He also denied apologising over the previous issue.

“No apology, if we give an explanation if to each party only. Do not manipulate this issue, we will make our candidate win,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin said that the meeting was held before the announcement of the candidate last night.

“Thanks to the Central PAS for making a decision that will help this cooperation well,” he said.
