12-year wait for CF and finally dreams came true

SERI KEMBANGAN, 9 May: The 12-year wait of the residents of the Sri Indah Apartment (Phase 1), Lestari Perdana, has now ended when the owners received the Certificate of Fitness for occupancy today.

The Puchong Member of Parliament, Gobind Singh, said that the project that involves 1,440 housing units was completed in 2003 but the certificate could not be issued due to failure by the developer to complete the infrastructure set by the technical department.

“I am proud with the efforts by the Council, together with the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), as they managed to resolve this issue after a long time,” he said during the Presentation Ceremony for the Certificate of Fitness for the Sri Indah Apartments.

A recipient of the certificate, Pek Yok Lin, 55, said that her nearly 10-year wait had now ended as her home ownership is now taken care of.

“I am very grateful to the state government and to the Chief Minister who is very concerned about the difficulties and needs of the people,” she told Selangor Kini.

Housewife Guljit Kaur, 50, said that she waited for 12 years to obtain the certificate.

“Previously, we were given a temporary certificate, however if we face any problems, we have to bear the cost ourselves because a valid certificate had not been obtained yet.

“Hopefully, after this the Council must maintain the residential area because there are some problems such as the waste incineration that disturbs the residents,” she said.
