No changes to the RMK-11, continues to ignore PR states

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 May: The presentation of the 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK-11) is less dynamic and innovative, said the Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng.

Guan Eng said that the RMK-11 ignores states administered by Pakatan Rakyat (PR), especially Penang, and does not touch much on public institutions.

“First, it is seen as less balanced and unfair to states administered by PR when it did not receive any provisions and continued to be ignored.

“The second aspect of individual and social institutions were untouched. Only the matter of economic development was strengthened.

“It is an old way and there are no reforms,” said the Bagan Member of Parliament at the Parliament lobby today.

He said that the aspect of education should be empowered to lead the country to becoming more dynamic and innovative.

Meanwhile, the Pokok Sena Member of Parliament, Datuk Mahfu Omar, questioned how the RMK-11 will be implemented because the federal government has failed to address the problem of leakages.

“For me, it is a matter of monitoring. How will the government control all that is planned to be implemented?

“For example, 1MDB was not mentioned when the RMK-10 was tabled and only existed after. Its existence has lost us up to RM42 billion,” he said.
