Azmin: IGP, I will not stay silent

IPOH, 13 Aug: The PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, will not remain silent regarding the misconduct of UMNO leaders despite receiving a warning form the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He said that this is because the crisis in the country is getting worse, including incidents involving the arrest of officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

“Prior to this, (the police) arrested us all, there was no problem. But recently, they are arresting MACC officers, what is going to happen?

“The MACC is an independent body that conducts inquiries, those who are investigating are arrested but those under investigation are being released.

“This country is crazy!” he said during the Aidilfitri banquet near hear last night.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also the Chief Minister, also warned the IGP to not act as he pleases because the people are entitled to know the truth.

“When I reprimanded, the police said to not interfere and stay silent. Tell your chief that this is not your father’s country.

“You cannot keep me silent because the people want to know why the MACC is being pressured,” he said.
