Meanwhile, the Lembah Pantai Parliamentary incumbent, Nurul Izzah Anwar managed to collect RM55,000 in flash donation that night at Batu Nilam Tiga.

The total of the donations were collected from the sale of tickets for 300 dinner tables with the capacity of 10 people to a table. Each participant was charged RM30.

A survey at the event found that all tables were sold out and were occupied by visitors. The sales for the event were carried out by a group of volunteers who went from house to house.

They were present but did not have time to buy tickets were seen to be camping around to hear talks from six Pakatan Rakyat leaders including Abdul Khalid.

The great response from the local community denied allegations that his candidacy for the Port Klang constituency did not garner support.

Apart from remaining confident that PR will remain to administer Selangor for the second time, the former Ijok Assemblyman is confident that PR has a good chance to go to Putrajaya to take over the Federal Government from Barisan Nasional (BN).

“On the 5th of May, we (PR) expect to win at the Parliamentary stage with at least 115 seats.

“Let us work together for it,” said Abdul Khalid as he was met with applause by the audience.

According to him, the support shown by the people proves that PR managed to administer Selangor with full transparency and accountability.

“This time lah…This time lah…This time lah! We will work together. When we celebrate this victory, the people will celebrate it. The people of Klang can celebrate because they deserve it,” he added.

Other speakers in the attendance was the Sungai Pinang constituency incumbent, Datuk Teng Chang Kim; the incumbent for Lembah Pantai Parliament, Nurul Izzah Anwar; the incumbent for Klang Parliament, Charles Santiago; the incumbent for Sekinchan constituency, Ng Suee Lim and the candidate for Kota Alam Shah constituency, V Ganabati Rao.

The flash donation was made to help Nurul Izzah who is facing tough competition from a minister to retain the Lembah Pantai Parliamentary seat.

The BN candidate against Nurul Izzah is Datuk Raja Nong Chik Datuk Zainal Abidin who is the Minister of the Federal Territory and Urban Wellbeing.

Support that was demonstrated by the people clearly reflected when in about 30 minutes, RM5,000 was collected exclusively for Nurul Izzah.

Provocation by BN supporters who arrived in several cars to disrupt the function clearly failed because the audience did not care about their actions.
