Rafizis: Blackout 505 Assembly Postponed to 22 June

PETALING JAYA, June 10: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has decided to hold the Blackout 505 peaceful assembly at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur on 22 June as there are no other programmes carried out in the area on that date.

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that they have taken into view of the parties involved where there is a carnival and a wedding which is held in the area or around it on the original date of 15 June.

Accordingly,PR also has given a notice to hold the #Blackout505 peaceful assembly in 10 days to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) as specified.

“The application to DBKL for the use or Padang Merbok on 22 June has also been made on Friday, 7 June. DBKL also confirmed that no other party has made an application to hold an event on the field on that date.

“Therefore, there is no reason for DBKL and the Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor to play political games by delaying the application,” he said in a press conference today.

The Pandan Member of Parliament also claimed that the majority of citizens in the Federal Territory are with PR, this DBKL and Tengku Adanan have been asked to respect the wishes of the people and that Padang Merbok belongs to the people.
