KUALA LUMPUR, June 24: Rafizi Ramli will continue to expose various issues during the House of Representatives session this term.

When he was met after the Members of Parliment Oath Swearing Ceremony this morning, he expressed his realisation of the opportunity to debate on limited issues in the Parliamentary sessions.

“The truth is that it is more limited (in Parliament) because of the limited time, turns and so on.

“Nut it does not matter. If there is not enough opportunities in Parliament, I will still expose it outside (of Parliament),” said the Pandan Member of Parliement.

Prior to this, he was famous for exposing various issues, including the discrepancies of the National Feedlot Centre (NFC) which involved the former Minister of Women’s Affairs, Datuk Seri Sharizat Jalil and the land issues in Bukit Raja involving the Selangor Wanita Umno Chief, Datuk Raja Ropiah Raja Abdullah.

In other developments, a total of 26 activists at Padang Merbok who were lying in front of Parliament were reported to have been detained by the authorities this morning.

Among those detained was student activist, Mohd Safwan Anang, while the Chairman of Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM), Badrul Hisham Shaharin and another activist, Adam Adli surrendered to the police.

All those arrested were taken to the Dang Wangi Police headquarters and are expected to be taken to the Jinjang lockup.

Commenting on the arrests, Rafizi in response requested for the police to not use force against those arrested.

“We will ensure that they receive legal aid and anything necessary,” said Rafizi.

This morning over 50 people joined the demonstration in front of Parliament to demand for the top members of the Election Commission (EC) to resign.

They also took the opportunity to send a memorandum to the Shah Alam Member of Parliament, Khalid Samad.
