SHAH ALAM, AUG 23: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is committed to continuing its focus on providing more affordable homes for the low and middle income groups.
Its chief executive officer, Noraida Mohd Yusof, said 9,000 units of houses under the project of Rumah Selangorku PKNS (RSKU) will be built from next year until 2020.
She said the project’s plan involved 12,000 units including the completed 3,000 units this year.
“This effort contributes to the implementation of PKNS’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
“The constructions of these houses are developed through profit-generating projects from high-end projects,” she said during the MyPKNS Incentive Launching Ceremony and exhibition of property collections at PKNS complex recently.
Noraida said, for the construction of affordable housing, PKNS incurred RM20,000 to RM30,000 per house unit.
“The cross subsidy element is due to the profitability of the PKNS high-price project developed to accommodate PKNS’s social projects,” she said.
Earlier, PKNS targeted the sale of 44 real estate units valued at RM12 million through the Exhibition of Property Collection at Plaza PKNS, which take place for 10 days, beginning last Friday.
PKNS’s Central Regional Property Sales Manager, Mohd Wazir Abdul Gani, said the exhibition in conjunction with PKNS’s 53rd anniversary is to provide exposure and updated information to visitors on property and commercial projects of the corporation.
Among the products offered are Anggun 1 and 2, Vega Residensi in City Berjaya, Citrina 2 and 3 in Bernam Jaya, Opal Residensi in Shah Alam and Daffina Princess 2 in Kota Puteri.
