66 participants received the Poverty Eradication Blueprint aid

SHAH ALAM, AUG 23: A total of 66 participants from Hulu Selangor district received equipments to start their business through the Poverty Eradication Blueprint programme.

The Exco of Poverty, Concerned Government and Farm Workers, V Ganabatirau said the aid involved an allocation of RM229,100.

He said among the equipments that been donated were sewing machines, cooking equipment, air pump and so on.

“The programme is continued every year to help the less fortunate to generate additional income, thus reducing the poverty rate of the people in Selangor.

“Businessman who wants to grow their businesses in order to increase their income is advised to apply this at the Land Office,” he told SelangorKini.

Ganabatirau said the programme received encouraging response in each district since its launch in 2008.

“I hope this aid will generate and increase family income to create a prosperous life,” he said.

The Selangor Poverty Eradication Blueprint Programme aims to channel aid in the form of equipment or machines required based on the current business and enterprise.

The programme involves the poor and low income earners who have the skills to continue in the fields of sewing, retail business, food business, child nanny, small enterprise and handicraft.

The State Government allocates RM2 million annually in an effort to raise the economy of the target group.
