SHAH ALAM, 8 Jan: Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi has been chosen to join the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) as a member for the 2015-2017 session during a ceremony at Bukit Kayangan Palace today.
The Exco for Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural Development and Traditional Villagers with for new MAIS members also received the letter of appointment from the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The four members are the former Selangor Police Chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan, Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Director Datuk Haris Kassim, Mara Technological University Law Faculty Senior Lecturer Associate Professor Datin Paduka Saudah Sulaiman and Worldwide Holdings Berhad CEO Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria.
They all joined MAIS with 15 other members, chaired by Datuk Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa.
Also present was the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali; the State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohamad Khusrin Munawi and state government executive councillors.
