Nazir Should Advice Najib to Not Spend Extravagantly

SHAH ALAM, 15 Jan: Datuk Seri Nazir Razak should remind the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak, who is his elder brother, to uphold the principle of ‘putting the people first’ and to follow in the footsteps of his father, the late Tun Abdul Razak, when he was the Second Prime Minister, by not spending extravagantly.

The Vice-President of PAS, Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, praised Nazir’s move to recall leadership memories of the late Tun Razak, but said that it was too late because he should have reminded his brother before the 13th General Election (GE13).

The article entitled “Remembering my father, Tun Razak” which was published on The Star website yesterday spoke of Tun Razak’s prudence in using public funds.

Quoting the article, Tun Razak refused his children’s demands to build a swimming pool at the official residence of the Prime Minister and thundered “What will the people think?”

“After the general election, it is clear that some decisions made by Datuk Seri Najib has put the people in the back seat to a point that a person who we thought was a staunch supporter of BN (from Academic) Prof Engku Aziz, has voiced out.

“It is clear that the country’s wealth under Datuk Seri Najib’s leadership team has failed to fulfil the aspirations of the people after being given the mandate,” said Tuan Ibrahim when contacted by Selangor Kini.

He said that the people are disappointed with Najib Razak’s leadership and are expressing it on social media sites, making the ‘kangkung’ matter a mockery that has flooded social sites.

Yesterday, the media published Nazir Razak’s heartfelt recollection of the passing of his beloved father on 14 January 1976.
