300 natives celebrate the Jalinan Kasih programme

KLANG, 29 Sept: Over 300 natives from across Selangor celebrated the Jalinan Kasih programme for the native community, which is being held for the first time.

The event organised by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) was also attended by all 49 Tok Batins from 49 indigenous villages.

The MAIS Chairman, Datuk Momamad Adzib Mohd Isa, said that the attendance is a high commitment by the indigenous people to progress.

“Congratulations to all present because it is not easy to bring everyone, especially Tok Batins.

“Hopefully, the event and commitment will continue in the future to strengthen ties between us,” he told the media.

Prior to this, he officiated the ceremony that was held at the Premiere Hotel today.

Also present were members of the Senate, Senator Datuk Muhammad Olian Abdullah, the Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) Director, Bakar Unus and the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) General Manager, Azlan Md Alifiah.

In addition to JAKOA and PKNS, cooperation and support was also received from the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) and the Selangor Islamic Natives Islamic Welfare and Management Association (PKPI).

At the same time, MAIS also presented the House Building Aid to 10 new converts amounting to RM450,000, Educational Assistance to 10 excellent students (RM3,500), 49 units in the Lawn Mower Assistance (RM47,000) and the Native Community Icon Award to 4 individuals (RM4,000), bringing the total to RM504,500.

In addition, PKNS also contributed in the Surau Restoration Assistance to 12 Native Suraus amounting to RM60,000.
