CM: Water stock mechanism examined

SHAH ALAM, 17 Aug: The state government is willing to study an appropriate mechanism to give water stocks to the people, as proposed by former Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali (PKR-Bukit Antarabangsa), said that the proposal can be considered with the concession acquisition terms fully resolved.

“If the programme is good and beneficial, we can consider.

“The mechanism of implementation should be detailed and brought before the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) to be discussed,” he said in reply to a supplementary question put forward by Shahrum Mohd Sharif (BN-Dengkil).

At the same time, Mohamed Azmin explained about the fate and welfare of employees of the concessionaires and that it should be maintained and absorbed despite the completion of the concession acquisition.

He said this in reply to a question from Rosni Sohar (BN-Hulu Bernam) and guaranteed that there will not be any employment for the staff concerned.
