Othman Roundabout upgrade to be completed on May 25

PETALING JAYA, 20 May: The Othman Roundabout upgrading project at the traffic light junction to ease congestion in Petaling Jaya is expected to be fully completed on May 25, said the Mayor, Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain.

He said that the project involves a cost of RM3.14 million starting October 2013, but faced several problems that led it being failed to continue for a period of time.

“The problem of the pipe diversion that is located at the widening of the road led to the delay in the project.

“MBPJ has sought approval from Syabas. The removal and installation of the new pipe was completed in October 2014,” he said during the project’s press conference yesterday.

In relation to that, Mohd Azizi said that the traffic light junction has been operating for a trial period involving the monitoring of contractors in the effort to identify traffic conditions on May 17.

“When the project is fully completed, MBPJ will solve any problems and the road will be paved with the final layer,” he said.
