SUNWAY CITY, 30 Jan: A Selangor Kini reporter was declared the winner of the Best Complaints and Problem Coverage Award 2014 for the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Media Appreciation Ceremony today.
Its reporter, Naeem Raffi, won the award through the report on the illegal waste dumping at Tasik Sri Aman, Puchong, with an article entitled ‘Komitmen MPSJ Pulih Tasik Dipuji’ (MPSJ’s Commitment to Restore Lake Praised).
A cash prize of RM500 and a certificate of appreciation was presented by the MPSJ Yang DiPertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan.
Selangor Kini is an online media and the official newspaper of the Selangor government, through its subsidiary company, Communication Corporation Sdn Bhd (CCSB).
Naeem said that he did not think that his name would be announced and he was happy when he won the award, beating more experienced candidates.
“Thanks to the panel of assessors and MPSJ that appreciated my article and work. I will continue to write for the public,” he said.
Among the other categories that were also awarded during the event were Best Coverage Award, Most Committed Journalist Award and Best Journalist 2014.
All categories were assessed by the YDP of MPSJ, the Corporate Director, the Community Development Director and the MPSJ Legal Advisor.
