Exco: Selangor is not yet ready to implement Hudud

SABAK BERNAM, 18 Dec: The implementation of the Hudud law is not yet ready to be carried out in Selangor based on the racial composition and the current situation of the state.

The Exco for Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs, Rural Development and Traditional Villages, Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that it is different from Kelantan. The implementation of Hudud in Selangor requires detailed planning from various aspects before it can be put to practice.

He said that understanding in related matters, including explanation and education to the community, needs to be carried out so that it can be fully understood and not misinterpreted.

“In Selangor, I think that we are still not ready because what is important to implement it is to fully understand this matter.

“Education for the community is not only for non-Muslims but also Muslims too. They have to understand why we (PAS) want this Islamic law,” said Ahmad Yunus who is also the Selangor PAS Treasurer.
