Azmin stops lorry illegally dumping garbage again

KUALA LANGAT, 10 Oct: The complaints from the people about a damaged road along the two kilometre road from Kampung Jaya Sepakat heading to Bandar Saujana Putra and Kampung Lombong got the attention of the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.

During the visit to the district of Kuala Langat today, Azmin did not miss the opportunity to personally explore the problem which has lasted for nearly six years in the location.

“On this visit, I called the JKR Director and the JPS Director to see how we can upgrade this damaged road fast,” he explained.

The road is the main route of the villagers and motorists from Puchong, Saujana Putra and Klang.

It is an alternative route that is shorter and faster and is cost effective compared to using the North-South Expressway Central Link (Elite).

Apart from being faced with the problem of a road with potholes, the residents also are faced with the problem of illegal dumping of rubbish at the riverbank.

Sources say that the activity is being carried out aggressively by parties who supposedly want to reclaim the riverbank from further erosion.

Now, the area is filled with piles of garbage consisting of construction waste, concrete poles, canvas and plastic, and even sinks and roof tiles, including broken furniture has filled up the riverbank.

“Although this location is outside the administrative area of MDKL, we has asked for their good services to examine the garbage problem here.

“Our focus is to ensure that this road can be used again and to ensure that the riverbank will not erode to give comfort to the residents using this road soon,” he explained.

During the visit, Azmin managed to stop lorries suspected of intending to throw rubbish in that location.

Meanwhile a lorry loaded with construction waste was left on the road shoulder without a driver.

While meeting with a few residents there, Mohamed Azmin urged them to cooperate by providing information to the authorities.

“I believe that this is an activity by syndicates, so as residents please cooperate by informing the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken.

“Imagine this syndicate profits tens of thousands, but our village is dirty. This is not right and should be eradicated,” he said.
