SHAH ALAM, DEC 19: The public is urged to inform Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) upon meeting any individual who is in need of help from the institution.
LZS Distribution Division Chief Abdul Basith Hamid said that would enable LZS to be more efficient in helping this group of people.
He said society also needs to play a key role in ensuring those in need are being helped and not to rely solely on LZS.
“In the event of meeting someone in need of help, the easiest way for the public to channel information, is via Facebook at ‘zakatselangor’.
“If they do not have a Facebook account, they can contact us at 1-300-88-4343 or email us at [email protected],” he said.
Abdul Basith said the public can also contact the nearest mosque or surau.
According to him, the appointed ‘amil’ and ‘kariah’ will help convey the matter to LZS for the case to be seen to accordingly.
“Once LZS receives the information, our staff will go down to the field on the same day to investigate their background and requirements.
“Therefore, we really encourage people’s assistance on this,” he said.
Prior to this, LZS had donated a wheel-chair to a chronic diabetic patient in Klang district.
